For more complex Induction Control, Thomson Governors has the TTG-250. This product is also a PLC based design for ease of customer maintenance and future modifications. THe four card slot allows for many more options such as Kaplan Double Regulation, Spear coordination for Turgo and Pelton Turbines, Head Level control and Communications Networking Options. THe TTG-250 is always supplied with an Integrated Electrical meter that it constantly communicates with, obtaining data for electrical monitoring and protection.

This controller series can be used with single or multiple unit powerplants using any type of turbine. The TTG 250 series will bring turbine speed to match the bus and provide a close to line contact output when this is achieved. The TTG 250 also contains the logic for opening and closing turbine inlet valves.

There are three methods of controlling the governor, either by wired input, or by use of the local OIT, or by remote communications. The TTG 250 is supplied for 3 wire control (i.e. start and stop pushbuttons). All methods of control are always active and the last input change is used for control. Shut-down signals always take precedence over start-up signals. When on line, the TTG 250 will maintain a preset amount of power or will optionally regulate head level. The TTG 200 has a number of Communications Options that can be selected depending on the Power Plant SCADA system, including Ethernet.

The TTG 200 can be used with either proportioning valves, simple 2 way hydraulic valves or motor driven hydraulic pumps for turbine control.
