Induction generators are often used for on-grid generation, especially in smaller sizes.  TTG has two products for these applications.

TTG 200 Series Induction Controllers

Thomson Governors has a standardized inexpensive solution for Small Induction Generators with simple control requirements. The TTG-200 series is a PLC based design for ease of customer maintenance and future upgrades. This controller series can be used with single or multiple unit powerplants using most types of turbine. The TTG 200 series will bring turbine speed to match the bus and provide a close to line contact output when this is achieved. The TTG 200 also contains the logic for opening and closing turbine inlet valves.

The TTG-200 provides three methods for start-stop control, either by wired input, or by use of the local Operator Interface, or by remote communications.

The TTG-200 can be used with any basic method of turbine control, including inlet valve operators, hydraulic valves, or motor driven hydraulic pumps.

For more options as well as Electrical Control and Monitoring, see the TTG-250, which is the larger cousin of the TTG-200. The larger chassis and more extensive communications allows a rich selection of options.

The TTG-200 can be provided as basic components (This is illustrated here), or assembled into an Electrical enclosure.

TTG-250: Flexible Induction Generation Control

For Larger Induction Generators and for more complex Induction Control, Thomson Governors has the TTG-250. This product is also a PLC based design for ease of maintenance and the ability to modify functionality at any time. The four option card slot and open ended design allows for many more options such as Kaplan Double Regulation, Spear coordination for Turgo and Pelton Turbines, Head Level control and Communications / Networking Options. THe TTG-250 is always supplied with an Integrated Electrical meter from which that it continuously obtains electrical monitoring and protection, and an Operator Interface, providing local information and messaging, and allowing keypad parameter entry and start-stop control.

This controller series can be used with single or multiple unit powerplants using any type of turbine. The TTG 250 series will bring turbine speed to match the bus and provide a close to line contact output when this is achieved. The TTG 250 also contains optional logic for opening and closing turbine inlet valves.

The TTG-250 allows for three methods for basic control, which can be done by either wired pushbuttons, by use of the local Operator Interface keypad, or by remote communications. When on line, the TTG 250 will maintain a preset amount of power or will optionally regulate head level. There are a number of Communications Options that can be selected from including the ability to be Internet accessible.

The TTG 250 can be used customized for turbine actuation using hydraulic proportioning valves, simpler hydraulic valves and also motor driven hydraulic pumps.
